The brisket was the best I have ever had. The beans were savory and delicious. The corn muffins melted in my mouth. Just such delicious barbecue. You can't go wrong with eating here.

Classic Southern meat and three! Biscuits and corn muffins were amazing, just like grandma used to make. Country fried steak was fork tender, mashed potatoes were made from actual potatoes and the fried okra was fresh and delicious. Don't get me started on the peach cobbler. Portion sizes are extremely generous. Service was everything you'd expect from this style of restaurant, courteous and warm.

Loved this place. Southern charm, great food, fast service. It's like having a home cooked meal. I had the meat, 2 vegetables , and cobbler meal. For the size, should have been twice the price. The brisket I had was well smoked with a great smoke ring, but was not dried out. The squash and onions were excellent and the sweet potato souffle was sweet perfection. While I really enjoyed the peach cobbler, it had a strong nutmeg flavor. It was very good, but a little different than I was anticipating. If you are looking for a good southern meal, this place certainly needs to be on your list

The Brunswick Stew was awesome! The beef brisket was also excellent. The pulled pork was okay, but not the best. Loved the corn muffins, too!

Great food and great service. Been going here since I was a young girl and I've never been disappointed.

Great prices, lackluster food. 'BBQ' was crock pot cooked. BBQ sauce is store bought. Had better food from gas stations.

Barbecue with Vegetables! What a concept. I love barbecue and my wife loves southern vegetables. At most barbecue restaurants the best you can find is a side of baked beans and some cole slaw. Occasionally you might find a salad. And at a traditional southern meat + three, you get great veggies but mediocre barbecue. Here they do it all! The barbecue was top-notch. I had the combo pulled pork and beef. The pork (as it usually does) beat out the beef--but only by a bit. I would have liked a few of the crunchy "outside" bits in the pork to add some texture, but that's nit-picking. The smoked chicken was also first-rate. The long list of veggies included delicious whipped sweet potatoes and squash casserole and Brunswick stew. The cole slaw needed dicing up with some pepper sauce. We were too full to try any dessert, but the chocolate cake looked pretty good!

I think the name may be a bit misleading. They have barbeque for sure, but it's probably better classified as a country or southern restaurant. Barbeque Ktichen is located an exit north of the airport, so it's definitely convenient for pre or post flight food. I went on a Sunday for lunch and had the BBQ pork sandwich, which came with a side of baked beans and complimentary bread. First off, the free biscuits- they're the way good ole' southern biscuits should taste! They're fluffy but have just enough crunch on the outside. The pulled pork was a little dry, and is the kind that can't stand alone without sauce. As this is their hallmark, I was little disheartened by that, but the sauce was tasty (tomato based). The baked beans had chili powder in it, which I felt overpowered the sweet or smoky flavor that you normally find in baked beans. I think "good" service is commonly classified with a server doing their job well (being attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, friendly, etc). This is one of the only places were I felt like the server was very genuine; I felt like I was a guest in her home and she was showing me that true "southern hospitality." Overall, Barbeque Kitchen is going to give you a good taste of classic southern food and hospitality.

I had the pork ribs, fried okra and collards. These ribs were the saltiest thing I've ever eaten in my life. They actually were saltier than some sea salt I've tasted. How the hell does that happen? Yelp failed me. I'm calling BS on the reviews. This is what I imagined a McRib would taste like. My wife is British and she cooks better ribs. The okra was fried to the point where it disintegrated every time I tried to stick my fork in one. The greens were the only edible thing on the plate. It came with two biscuits, I was given one corn and one flour. Both were bland and dry. If this place was in a remote location like Afghanistan I could see why the great reviews. At least the people working were nice.

Not living in Atlanta anymore, so I really look forward to good Southern cooking when I can get it. We had to be at the airport on Friday so gladly took that opportunity to eat at BBQ Kitchen....and they did not disappoint! I had the BBQ beef brisket with fried okra (to die for!), baked beans (wanted broccoli-rice casserole but they had sold out), and banana pudding. My husband had smoked turkey (moist and delicious), fried okra, sweet potato souffle, and peach cobbler. Biscuits were light and cornbread was not cake -- like it's supposed to be! We only had a short time to order, eat, and dash to the airport. Service was fast and portions were huge -- just like I remembered.

Not Fancy, but fast friendly service, the food was good, and the prizes where very affordable.

I was around the corner at a hotel.... if you are ever in an area just yelp... I promise you... You will find things even the locals dont know about... any way i was pleasantly surprised by this find. the smoked chicken was recomended, WoW was it really good or I was really hungry.... but then i had the cornbread ,okra and rice and gravy then the banana vanilla wafer pudding OK this was SLAP YO MAMMA good, I have been to a lot of Homes in my lifetime and a lot of restaraunts.... the banana wafer pudding was really really good.... Great comfort food for the price....

Our hotel was near by and we were hungry so we thought we would give it a try. SO GLAD WE DID... what a great taste of the South! Wonderful service and a great meal!

  • Debbie S.

The absolute best go-to place for the closest thing to home cooked meals around! The fried chicken breast is perfectly prepared, and the fried green tomatoes are just like Mama made. If chicken livers interest you, then you are in the right place to enjoy some of the best around. The menu changes daily, and they may run out of some vegetables. There is always something else offered that will please anyone who likes country cooking. If there is a negative, sometimes it is noisy as it is generally full of satisfied customers. You also must pay with cash only, probably the only restaurant that does not accept credit cards.

My tastebuds have not been this happy in a week! Huge portions, tasty sides. I had the brisket with fried okra, collard greens and peach cobbler (swoon) and my partner had the pulled pork with greens, pole beans and baked beans (bean overload.) Both the pork and the brisket were tender and flavorful and I can't remember the last time I had collards that good. We took a bunch of our meat and some biscuits back to the hotel for a late nite snack and it was just as good cold! Definitely Big Bang for your food buck and will go back next time I'm in town.

  • Desiree B.

I love coming here for a REAL country breakfast! The catfish platter with cheese grits, eggs, and a side of bacon is my go-to meal of choice although the corned beef hash is a close contender. Served on cafeteria style plates and trays, the restaurant has a real, down home south country feel... the cuisine of "Bible Belt" Georgia (sans Atlanta) that you come to expect and enjoy the exchange of cordial pleasantries with.

My partner and I was in this part of town yesterday and decided to try this place out for the first time. When we walked in we were greeted by a little white lady with missing teeth and she uttered something I did not understand after asking her to repeat herself twice then I got my partner to find out what she said and all she said was "You can sit anywhere in this room." OKAY. We find a seat then are shortly greeted by our country waitress who takes our drink orders. My entree was Barbecue Pork that came with 3 sides. I chose mac and cheese, baked squash casserole, and cole slaw. My partner got the Fried Chicken Breast which came with 2 sides and a dessert. He chose the cucumbers and onions, lima beans, and some strawberry shortcake thing as a dessert. The food was actually quite GOOD! I felt a little uncomfortable since the establishment was kind of old and didn't seem to be the cleanest, but the food was definitely on POINT! Next time I will skip on the bread basket. The bread was really dry and just overall empty calories. What made me really happy with this place was the fact that they offer FREE REFILLS ON SIDE ITEMS! And you can switch the sides up however you like, you do not have to stick with the same thing. So of course I left there STUFFED and hurting. The price for both me and my partner was an amazingly low $16.50. Which felt like a STEAL. I will definitely give this place another go-around. (I attached a picture of our food with this review)

Excellent food and very friendly staff. We had the full ribs plater and the smoked beef brisket . Each with 2 vegetables and peach cobbler, outstanding. The entire dinner same to $22, we would pay $40 for the same amount of food in Seattle. Only one suggestion, we missed having beer with dinner. Highly recommend the place.

  • Kimberly S.

I can't really say I'd ever come back here. The food was just okay. $8 for lunch isn't really bad, but Airport View (About 5 minutes away) is $6 for the same damn plate and the food there is better. The Squash Casserole was kind of eggy tasting to me. The MacNCheese was just okay. The Tea was good. It was the best thing I had here. The Okra was fried too hard and not seasoned well. The Chicken was just okay. The Mashed Potato and gravy was decent.

My uncle is old school, he had chicken livers and finished them all without complaint so they must have been good. I had the grilled ham, mac and cheese (above average) and greens (fresh but a lil bland). Another uncle had beef brisket and fried chicken and finished it. Jalapeno cornbread was finished first even though we had a mixed basket of bread. Great deal for the price. Nice home cooking in a restaurant.

Good food at a great price. The staff was very friendly and the Brunswick Stew was awesome.

  • Jamie S.

Overall, wasnt really impressed with this place. Expected more, especially after seeing the reviews on Yelp! There were a lot of people at this restaurant and it had the ambience of a cafeteria, but I could get past that. The portions were good, but the food was very bland (even by Yankee standards). Dont even recall what I had but I tried 2-3 different dishes and felt the same about all of the food. I do recall the barbecue sauce, which tasted store bought. On a positive note, the prices were pretty good so although I didnt like the food, I wasnt completely disappointed because it didnt cost much. Wont be back!!!

Awesome unpretentious food and awesome unpretentious service. If I hadn't had a conference to attend at the convention center I would have never ventured to this part of town for food. But on this day, I am glad I did. Using my trusty yelp app I found this place as my colleague and I wanted to try something local that had good reviews. BBQ Kitchen rated high so we headed over. The restaurant is super old looking and the decor is from the 60's I surmised. Even the plates are old looking. That still didn't stop us. We arrived at 11:30ish and I am glad we did. The restaurant was packed by noon, FYI. I ordered the BBQ pulled pork. It came with coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, biscuits, and cornbread) for $7.00. I repeat, $7.00! Wow! My colleague ordered the fried chicken livers which he proclaimed to be the best he has ever had. Everything was so tasty including the apple cobbler that came with my colleagues meal. Of course, I had to sample that as well. The bill including tax was right at about $20.00. This is a great restaurant for people down near the airport or convention spot who want to eat good local food for cheap.

Woah. How did I miss this place for so long? They've been doing their thing for over fifty years! (And I lived practically down the street from them for maybe 20 of those.) Sheesh. Please don't repeat my mistake. Go and check them out now. My mouth is literally watering as I write this review. You'll find a menu of many delicious barbecue choices (and other home-cooked goodness). Portions are generously sized. The barbecue is fantastic. The brunswick stew is textbook perfect. And if what you want is a meat-n-two (or three) you'll be very happy here. Ask them about free refills on your veggies. Yes, I said veggies. Just ask them. This is comfort food cooked in a fine, old-fashioned, Southern tradition. Sweet-tea, biscuits, cornbread, and all that. Staff may call you "honey." The cornbread was so good, I wanted to go hug someone in the kitchen. I need to stop writing before I drive myself mad with the desire to go back. And I will indeed happily go back. Holler if you're coming with. Oh, BTW, this is a cash only business. There is an ATM on site.

Mmm-mm, Is all that I need to say. However they want me to be a bit more wordy on a review... Me and a buddy are trying to run the menu. So far I like the fried chicken and the country ham the best... They're cornbread is fantastic too. The food comes you fast, there's always plenty to eat and everyone is friendly... Hope that's wordy enough.

Are you people serious ?!?! A lot of Junk is still Junk. I can't believe people say this place is good and cheap. First off all of the food is poor quality. Second, it's not that cheap, the lunch special for a plate of tasteless crap and was 10 bucks. I honestly wouldn't go back if it was free.

    (1)
  • Heidi S.

This place is a gem. It doesn't look like much (and the squeaky, sticky floor doesn't help), but the food is so good. The collards are fantastic, as is the apple cobbler. The staff is very nice and attentive.

I really like this place. Southern cooking, a meat and 2 sides place. Simple, good, home style cooking. Catfish is good. All of the sides are excellent. Prices are very reasonable. On Sunday get there early. Lots of post church crowd.

  • Dan C.

I just rolled myself out from having dinner here. I got the pulled pork platter and couldn't finish all the food they brought out. The pork was good and so was the cornbread. Also came with brunswick stew which was pretty good. I did not to get to much of the beans and coleslaw because I was full, but what I had wasn't bad. Don't try to pay with a credit card this is a cash establishment. I will be back the next time I stay by the airport.

In a word... Fantastic. We came in on our way out of town one morning at around 7:20. We were out and getting into the car again around 7:41. Smokin' fast service. After my parents kept telling me how good this place was again, we wanted to give it a try but were not sure if we could pull it off knowing we had to get to the airport by 7:45. As we came down the highway, we decided to give it a shot. I'm glad we did. We were able to get sat and had coffee and OJ within a couple of minutes. We then got our orders pronto. My ham and cheese omelett was really good, eggs were cooked thin with butter or something. Perhaps not the healthiest preparation but certainly a good one. The service was very quick and friendly. I have not eaten here for around 23 years. It was good to go back and find the place, at least for breakfast, right on time. I hope dinner is just as good because we are coming back to find out. Hours are 7am - 8pm daily.

I have stopped by here a few times now and always leave - full. There is a plethora of options from this meat and three and the prices are great. The entire staff is cordial and friendly. The food is, in the words of yelp here, A-OK. Most entrees are very salty, almost too salty to eat. Recently I had the smoked beef brisket and simply could not finish it due to the salt. The collard greens are lacking, and leave me disappointed each time. The biscuits are probably my favorite part. I wish I could buy a box to take home, they are fantastic. With all of that said, I still enjoy coming here. Good prices, friendly servers and unhealthy food leaving you stuffed.

  • Jamarcus T.

Co-workers and I showed here for the scoutmob deal (50% off up to $10/table). We were seated promptly and the server was very friendly, very lively and got our orders right. She was also very happy to bring out a fresh and hot basket full of rolls and cornbread muffins that were both tasty. You can ordinarily get one meat and three veggies for about $8, or you can get one meat, two veggies and a dessert for the same price. I ended up getting the pulled chicken covered in bbq sauce, crowder peas, collard greens and squash souffle. Let me first say the serving sizes are HUGE. You wont be walking out of there with a desire to eat anything else for a while. I thought the crowder peas were great, and the greens were simply too salty. The squash souffle amazingly tasted very "eggy", but weren't bad, and I enjoyed the chicken. My co-worker also got the pulled chicken but was not crazy about the sauce. Another coworker got peach cobbler which was a massive serving, but she had to get a to go box for it, so not certain how it measured up. Very respectable restaurant that you could likely catch me eating at again. Oh yea, this is a cash only restaurant, but they do have an ATM inside.

  • Doug T.

To give you an idea.. I think it's a old iHop, the plates are plastic with dividers. But the service was great and they make things from scratch daily.. Three of us had dinner for less than 30 bucks with a beverage.. one caveat, it's cash only.

  • Josephine I.

A-OK.... It was an OK experience. I ordered BBQ pulled pork plates with 3 sides and a glass of sweet tea. The BBQ pork was dry, and it is salvaged by the sauce. The sauce is a tomato and molasses based. The sauce was pretty good. For sides, I had Mac and Cheese, collards, and squash casserole. The squash and Mac and cheese were really bland. I love Mac and Cheese, and that needed a lot of salt to taste even anything. The collards was the star of my plate. It was well seasoned with some fat. The way the South makes it. The sweet tea was a damn good one! You get unlimited refills on sides and tea for $9 Ish . The value is great! I would give this more of a 3.5 stars!

I don't give high ratings without something superior about a place. A friend mentioned Barbecue Kitchen and since I was in the area for an event I made a stop in on the way home as I'm always looking for good BBQ. My girlfriend is a vegetarian so we mainly stopped because I was told there were lots of veggie sides and there were however she decided on breakfast which they were happy to server at 3pm on Easter Sunday. So cheese omelet and grits for her and BBQ pork and beef for me. Portions were large and the price is on the cheap side compared to most places. BBQ beans were better than average, slaw was pretty good and stew was pretty good too. Nothing was "great" except the biscuits and BBQ sauce. Just pretty good country cooking which can be great depending on the mood. Reminded me of a lot of childhood BBQ plate sells. There were a lot of sides and desserts that we didn't get to try but I suspect they would all be pretty tasty from the crowd I saw there. Service was excellent! Lot's of motherly types so expect a "sweetie" or two and don't get upset when they do. I'd certainly go back if I was near the area.

I flew into ATL, landed at 7pm. No reason to jump into traffic, rush hour was winding down. I needed to get something to eat quickly. Barbecue Kitchen is just minutes away from the airport and open until 8pm. The place looks like it's been here for decades, that's promising. Inside, an old style, family run BBQ restaurant. I ordered the pork BBQ platter. Service is good, food comes quickly. The Brunswick Stew is excellent, slaw is good, beans have too much of something (liquid smoke?). Barbecue Kitchen offers two choices of cornbread, a familiar southern cornbread and spicy Mexican cornbread. I liked the Mexican cornbread. But what you really care about is the pork BBQ, and it tastes great. I'll be back often. Good BBQ, comfortable setting, near ATL.

Great Breakfast I've passed this place a hundred times and never took a 2nd glance due to the out-dated exterior but from the urging of friends I gave it a shot and was very impressed. Breakfast is very filling - a basket full of biscuits, omelet, grits, meat - and reasonably priced. If they'd put some lipstick on that pig i'd give it 5 stars!

  • Mark S.

We ate there for breakfast but want to go back for the bbq. The pans of meat they were hauling in from the smoker looked delicious. They had some of the best country ham I have ever eaten and big soft fluffy biscuits that melt in your mouth with the taste of lard like a biscuit should. The eggs were scrambled to order. The grits were cooked to a good consistency, not runny and lightly salted in the pot as they should be. Not the best grits I have ever had but a long way from the worst. My friends had corned beef hash which was excellent. Gravy and the omelette were also good. Service was great. Would definitely go back for breakfast and look forward to trying their BBQ. I'm told their vegetables are quite good also.

OMG! this is the shit! i should just end my review here. I love country food, soul food, home cooking, what ever you wish to know it as. i love it! i love cooking with bacon grease. I love having pieces of fat in my veggies and beans. i love putting hot sauce on everything. i love eating a biscuit or cornbread with all of my meals. and i absolutely love sweet tea/lemonade mix. this place has been opened for literally as long as i can remember. it has a great menu, a great crowd and great employees. nothing special about this place, whatsoever, but the food will speak for them. generous portions at value prices. 4.5 stars. minus one for only taking cash. :-( i never carry cash. so i only come here when i have someone who's taking me :-)

Don't let the outside appearance fool you, this place is the real deal. If you are craving BBQ, you could do far worse than a stop here.

Stopped here for breakfast after an early flight into the ATL. Great location, only about a mile away from the airport. They open at 7 and I got there about 7:15. On my way in, about three guys had finished breakfast and were heading out. There were probably about 10 more guys in the restaurant. Standard breakfast fare. Eggs, toast, pancakes, french toast, hash browns and don't forget the grits. Waitress was nice and service was quick. I got two eggs over medium, hasbrown and wheat toast. The food did not blow my mind but was hot and made to order. They don't accept credit card but thankfully I had some cash (and they have an ATM in the restaurant). The food was actually pretty cheap- cost me less than $6 for my food and a drink. I recommend it for anyone in the area wanting a quick hot breakfast. From the other reviews, it sounds like lunch and dinner might be a great idea too.

You people are either inexperienced with southern food or on crack. I would never go back here. Overall the food was bland, BBQ sauce was storebought(cattlemans), service was terrible, portions were big and prices were good. Read on if you care to. You walk in and immediately get the usual 'country kitchen' feel from the decor and the amount of teeth each waitress has. Fine by me, I like it that way. With family, we sit down and all order something different, we like to share and sample each others dishes, we are all well educated in the kitchen. So here is where I tell you what we ate and how much most of it sucked. Sadly fried okra wasn't on the menu that day. The sweet tea was actually great, but... Pole beans were flavorless Rutabagas weren't good Collard greens were cooked well and fresh but no flavor Mashed potatoes and gravy were instant, not home made Cole slaw was pretty much just finely chopped cabbage, nothing else, bland Fried eggplant was soggy Fried fish was not terrible, not good The cornbread and biscuits were kinda edible BBQ brisket didn't taste like or have the texture of brisket, and had cattlemans BBQ sauce on it. ugh BBQ pork sandwich was the same exact meat the 'brisket' was and had the same sauce on it. lame Brunswick stew was pretty meh, nowhere NEAR Old Hickory House's Brunswick stew I only gave this place 2 stars due to big portions and decent prices. Otherwise the service was terrible and the food was very bland. I don't understand all the 4-5 star ratings the others on this site have given it. I would not recommend it. Although it DID seem like a better option than the Happy Buddha next door which had an empty parking lot, I wonder why...

A hidden treasure in College Park! BBQ Kitchen is a family owned & operated restaurant, which I love about them. Their walls showcase all of the famous folks that have visited since they've been around. A recent ScoutMob brought me back in after a while away, and I was reminded of both why I love this place but also can't go every week. Nothing on their menu is good for you, but you can bet your britches it's all super tasty. Fried chicken, sweet tea, veggie plates, banana pudding, galore! They serve a traditional country breakfast with everything you could dream up, but bbq-style lunch & dinner is their specialty. Breakfast here is good enough that they give the Wa-ho next door a run for their money. For lunch and dinner, they have some stock side dishes (fried okra, creamed corn, green beans), as well as special sides that come and go with the weeks and seasons.

Been coming here since I was but a wee little boy, which is part of the reason I am a snob when it comes to southern vegetables. Menu changes daily, but they usually have fried chicken, fish, and pulled pork--all of which are worth it. Disappointed last time because they didn't have macaroni and cheese, and my girlfriend absolutely MUST have macaroni. But the collards were great! ***side note, something the waitress MIGHT tell you if she likes you. Halfway trough the meal, if you ask nicely, they will bring you out more veggies for free. Eat on!

My BBQ chicken flat out stunk. Tiny and dry. Sides were meh, except mac and cheese. Place needs a mop and is cash only. It gets 3 stars because my wife's fried chicken was very tasty.

  • Bill H.

I love this place. I've been eating here for at least 3 decades, and I keep going back about twice a month. It is very casual and the seating is comfortable. The menu includes much more than barbecue. I would describe it as more of a meat and three than what I normally think of as a BBQ place. My favorite is the half chicken. Mostly though, I love it for the vegetables, which are fresh. Big plus is that you can reorder vegetables for as much as you like, and you can re-order any vegetable, not just the ones you selected when you ordered. The waitresses will definitely call you "Hon." Oh, and breakfast here is killer.

Better than Waffle House. A true old-school Southern place. No frills, just tasty food delivered quickly to your table.

I have no idea how in the world they maintain business. I assume that anyone that has been here is not southern or just simply don't know good tasting food or maybe they just tricked myself and my party. When we walked in the place smelled like an old historic place that had been closed up, so it had the ugh smell. The prices were fair and seemed a little too good to be true. So the four of us ordered fried catfish with steak fries and a side salad....which should have been the indicator to just pay and go. The salad consisted off all iceberg lettuce( i mean the brown one's too that should be thrown away) also maybe 4 carrot strips and that was all. WTF sooo my aunt asked for a tomato at least and tried to bear and grin it. too funny. So on to the rest of the order. I ordered the pull pork sandwich with baked beans, my little cousin took a cheeseburger and hash browns and my mom ribs with squash and collard greens. Now here goes the pull pork was not smoked, hell nothing in the building smelled like it was smoked nor had even hit a grill. However the sauce was really good and could be used as ketchup as well. The cheeseburger had the appearance and taste of a frozen burger that was cooked on a stove in a skillet with no seasoning so although I no longer eat beef, I thought damn a burger from Krystals or mcdonalds would taste better. The ribs were ok and sides just regular so noone wanted a to-go box. Maybe this place is better for breakfast but to be a barbecue spot and nothing smells like a grill is burning or items are smoked is crazy!!!!! I will take my thoughts when venturing out to a new place again and places like this won't be part of my memory. The reason they got 1 star is the waitress was extremely nice so that was a plus.

The Barbecue Kitchen is good choice for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. However I've found the barbecue pork to be slightly dryer than I prefer. Show up on Thursdays for the Barbecue Kitchen's hidden secret, Pineapple Pudding. The Pineapple Pudding may look a little sloppy in it's presentation, but don't be fooled it's pretty DAMN GOOD!

We stopped in for a quick bite on our way to pick up a friend at the airport before moving on to the wedding an hour and a half away. Good lord, the sweet tea... this is why I love the South. We had a pulled pork sandwich and a fried fish sandwich and got out for less than $20 including a very generous tip. The food is great, the service is better, and it's precisely what you're looking for in a comfort food kind of place.

Been coming here for years. No frills. Great food. Need I say more. I do miss the refills on sides. The smoked turkey is fantastic. I tried the banana pudding this time and while it was good, I would recommend the peach cobbler.

Gotta give this place 5 stars. I am a sucker for southern food... when it's done right! This place does it the way it should be done. I got the hen and dressing with 3 veggies (stewed tomatoes and okra, cream corn, and mashed potatoes) -"deal-icious!" Free refills on the veggies? Good lord, yes! The tea was sweeter than a honeysuckle in May and so was our server! I had to dilute the tea with some unsweet for I already felt cavities forming after just a few sips... I had my mind set on some nana puddin' but didn't have the space for it (next time... next time!) The damage? $9.84, plus tip and some hardening of the arteries.

The Kitchen is an experience. Nestled on Virginia Ave in an old Ihop (I beleive), this place has been serving up good country cooking for years. You never know who you will see come lunch time: men in overalls and camo, a troup of old ladies, and a van full of lobbiests from the state capitol. The food is great- not the best but delishious, consistent and over filling. The service is always prompt and courtious but don't expect any back rubs a-la Mary Macs. This is a simple mans place. If your stomach objects to large amounts of fat, salt or other traditional southern fare you should avoid, otherwise EAT UP!

This is a classic country BBQ place in College Park. The food is cheap, so you can fill up on just a little money. However, I suspect most of the veggies are from a can or frozen. The brisket is great. The fried chicken is hit or miss. When it's on, it's great. The biskets are also quite good.

The Barbecue Kitchen is one of the few enduring ancient barbecue upstarts inside the Perimeter (Harold's is the only other one I can think of), with a smoker in back and 60's era booths and fixtures. It is a booming business, with an original dining area and two other areas added on as business grew. I went the first time for the barbecue, which is authentic and well-prepared with a thick, sweet sauce. I came back for the breakfast biscuits and the other meat-and-three options. With choices like meat loaf, chicken fried steak, and fried chicken that rivals anywhere, there's too much to miss if you just eat the barbecue. Meals start with a basket of biscuits and/or cornbread. Although the meat and bread are still very good, and some of the vegetables are obviously fresh, a few shortcuts may have sneaked into the menu over the years. Some veggies are canned or "canned with doctoring". The gravy seems too smooth to be homemade. I'd swear that the country fried steak is a little too perfectly breaded, but the waitress assured me that it was still the real deal. Ask when ordering and you won't be disappointed. If everyone does, maybe they'll get the message. Because the booths are so old, seating can be a little too cozy for groups. Waitresses vary from stoic to charming, but are reliably efficient. Although veggie refills are free, they are not pushed. I've gotten bread refills too, but be nice and don't do that just to bring it home. This is the South, so mac 'n cheese (ok, but nothing special) can be one of your three veggies. Cobbler too. Then again, one of my eating buddies likes a biscuit with honey for dessert. With so many choices, some folks eat here several times a week. For food as Southern as it gets and a tradition over 40 years old, the Barbecue Kitchen definitely hits the spot.

Picked this due to the high reviews and $ low cost. Right down the road from the air port. Fantastic portions, everything is fresh, this is the real deal southern comfort food. Highly recommend

It is really good stuff. I don't know how a bad BBQ place would still be around, but this is worth trying. I had the BBQ pork, and the flavor was great. They add a BBQ sauce on top of it, so if you don't like added sauce, then ask for it plain. But you can see the smoke lines in the pork. All the sides I had were great. Cole Slaw, fried okra, and squash casserole. The biscuit was very good; fluffy and buttery. The only complaint I have is that they are CASH ONLY! I didn't realize till now that there are free refills on veggies.... I should have asked for more.... oh well. Very Yummy!

This is the type of local restaurant you want to visit when in the area. I tried the pork and it was very good, as was the punctual service. The meat was good, although a little on the dry side, and the BBQ sauce was OK, but I would have preferred a little more "snap" to the flavor. The negative was the stuffing with brown gravy. It was the consistency of pudding and had little or no flavor. However, that negative was replaced by the positive of the peach cobbler!

We had a 3 hour layover in ATL so we decided to make good use of our time and try out a place for some southern cooking. The food was hearty & satisfying -- country fried steak, mashed potatoes w/ gravy, collard greens, biscuits, corn muffins, peach cobbler. All for only... I forgot what it was, $7? REALLY affordable. My friends had the fried chicken & BBQ pork -- both really good as well. What was even nicer was the service!! The lady had the cutest Southern accent and she was so sweet -- checking up on us to see if we were happy, taking a picture for us (such tourists, I know), and even calling a cab for us to get us back to the airport. Now that's what I call Southern hospitality :)

This is a place that will keep you coming back. A very traditional meat and two/three restaurant with a very good menu. Don't come here if you are on a diet and when you do come, bring your appetite. I ordered the smoked chicken, baked beans, mashed potatoes and banana pudding. The smoked chicken is, and always is, the best I have ever had. They have their own smoke house in the and smoke all of their meats themselves. The mashed potatoes are home made..no instant here! The baked beans are a perfect blend of spices and the banana pudding is homemade and so rich. They have a core menu and the veggies and sides change each day (the menu has a paper insert that lists what they have that day). They always have two desserts, but come early if you want your favorite one because they go fast. Want the banana pudding, check...they only have it a couple of days a week. Dont come here for the atmosphere, come for the food and bring your appetite and bring your cash...they dont take credit cards. The portions are healthy and you will not go away hungry!

If you're near the airport, do yourself a favor and stop by for some down-to-earth, honest-to-goodness, and any other three word cliche term that describes get-in-my-belly (ok, four) delicious southern cooking. I work in the area and initially stopped by 'cause I noticed all of the five-o (po-po) cars in the lot. Say what you will, but in my book, if you want a good meal, follow the police. Anyway, this is a meat and three kind of place. You really can't go wrong with any of the "mains" - at least the ones I can vouch for - barbeque, fried chicken breast, chicken pot pie, hamburger steak, breaded pork tenderloin are all exceptional ( I will try the fried chicken livers one of these days). The sides - fried okra, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, collard greens, mac and cheese are likewise artery clogging goodness. Or, if you have a sweet tooth, substitute a cobbler or bananna pudding for one of the sides - just make sure to clear out a space in your cubicle for your afternoon food coma. This is an authentic and real slice of pre-sushi Atlanta, with prices to match. You will get out of here, with tip, for under $10. But bring cash - no credit card accepted ya'll.

My husband (Barry A) and I finally made it to Barbecue Kitchen last night after having lived in the area for over 2 years. If you plan on going for dinner, make sure you get there early. There have been so many times that I have thought about going but couldn't because it was after 8pm. Other useful things to know: bring cash, bring your appetite, and be prepared for really sweet tea. My first entree choice, fried chicken, was sold out so I opted for the fried fish. It was ok, but the real stars of the meal were the veggies, dessert, and biscuits. I had heard that the veggies were all you can eat and it was confirmed when our waitress asked us if we wanted more after we had finished ours. (You can order different veggies each time too.) I probably would have said yes if I wasn't saving room for my peach cobbler, which was pretty tasty. But the biscuits... they were amazing. You get a choice of cornbread, biscuits, or both with your meal. We opted for both since we had never been there before. Next time, we'll just be getting biscuits. They were that good. And I'm usually a cornbread person. I will definitely be going back to try their barbecue, brunswick stew, breakfast (served anytime!), and fried chicken.

I was looking for somewhere to go for Memorial Day, I read the reviews and decided to drive 25 min for some barbeque. It was worth the drive. I order pulled pork, mac and cheese, baked beans and a side order of greens. I have no complaints everything was delicious. Oh yeah and the peach cobbler was yummy!!! I was stuffed...There was no wait at all. Oh yeah not to mention it was very very reasonable. I am definitely going back....I

My husband and I try to eat breakfast together every Saturday morning. We always have a default restaurant, but are trying to hit the Mom & Pop places instead of chain restaurants. The Barbecue Kitchen fit the bill for breakfast. The total bill was $20.00 inclusive of tip. The portions are good, not so much food that you are overwhelmed. I ordered pancakes with a side of ham. I received two large pancakes and the good ham that raises your blood pressure. The hubby had grits, an omelet (with real eggs!!), and toast. Everything was hot and served with a smile. Please note, this appears to be a real barbecue joint, as there was a smokehouse out back. I think we'll go back for dinner.

Went here for lunch today after a LONG absence. OOOO! I hope they still love me! Salmon croquettes, collard greens, mac 'n cheese, and blackeyed peas, along with zoombah tasty corn muffins and big tasty yeast rolls, and sweet tea to wash all the goodness down. Yesss! Love is still in bloom! Each salmon croquette was the size of a BIG hamburger patty. No problem: I take home with rest of veggies (they give FREE refills on veggies), use magic microwave, cry for happy again!

I use to come here a while back so I went a couple of weeks ago for carry-out. While waiting outside at the carry-out window I decided never to eat in again. At least one of the waitress there wiped her sweaty face and then tossed someones salad with her sweaty hands. They get one star for carryout only!!!

Eat the cornbread, not the biscuit, and order the fried chicken, not the pork BBQ. The Brunswick stew was tasty, but while there wasn't anything wrong with anything, there wasn't anything especially awesome, either.

I finally got to try this near legendary joint this evening when my husband and I flew back into town. He and his work buds eat there quite a bit when they are on the way out of town because of its proximity to the airport. I really can see why it has achieved legend status with them at least. The barbecue was just good old fashioned pulled pork (I ordered sauce on the side) and it was just perfect. I haven't had any better anywhere in Atlanta. And the sides were just like my grandmother used to make. The biscuits were fantastic, and even better as dessert with some butter and honey!

it's cracker barrel homemade! i got a 1/2 smoked chicken (a little too smoked for me, but the skin was awesome) with 3 sides (pole beans with bits of smoked meat, mashed potato with gravy...it was weird texture but i ate all of it anyway, and fried okra...fried too much but ate all that too. the meal comes with cornbread or biscuit. i didn't want to fill up on the carbs before my meal, but within 3 minutes my entree came. trust me..the meat and 3 sides with bread can feed 2 people. the place outside looks like a swiss alps chateau on his last legs and inside it looks just as run down, but as i scanned the place, full of down home folks, airport workers and cops...i knew this gotta be a homey place for food. oh yeah, the fried chicken looked amazing (i should have gotten that instead)..there was also chicken fried steak on the menu and pork bbq and brisket. too much to try for just me. and best of all it was an easy 2 minute walk from the country inn and suites where i was staying. total price including my $2 tips, $10.50. you cannot beat that! so good.....oh yeah, this place is cash only.

Rabbit-food grazers, duck 'n cover. This place is for those with field hand appetites. Barbecue's good. There's even a smokehouse out back and they've recently added Texas-style brisket and thick-sliced smoked turkey breast to the pulled pork menu. Add molasses-and- brown-sugar baked beans and/or Brunswick stew and it's a barbecue lover's delight. But their real claim to fame is the daily southern style meat-n-three menu. Farmer's market fresh veggies. Best collards on the planet. Big fluffy biscuits. Corn bread. Sweet tea. Cobbler. And like that. My favorite is the Sunday special: baked hen and cornbread dressing with giblet gravy. Portions are huge, get a doggy bag. Use leftovers for a midnite snack, using my personal recipe: Dressing on a slice of bread (spread like p'butter), cranberry sauce on the other slice, cold chicken in the middle. Trust me (!) Located on Virginia Ave. across from the cemetery. Don't make jokes about proximity to a graveyard, or you won't get no rutabagas. Open 7 a.m - 8 p.m. Cash only. ATM on premises.

I was looking for a good place to meet some friends who were catching a flight at Hartsfield and this was the best reviewed restaurant near the airport that I could find. We went for an early lunch, a few minutes after 11, and it was already crowded. Everyone ordered something different- one the smoked chicken, one the pulled pork bbq, one the smoked turkey, and I had the fried chicken with collards, mashed potatoes, and cherry cobbler. The food came pretty quickly and was piled high. We all remarked about how none of us would be able to finish it all. I had read all the good reviews here before I went and I must admit I was a little disappointed. Maybe it is because I have so many great southern cooks in my family, but I thought my food was just OK. The fried chicken was pretty good, the collards were plentiful and pretty good. I was not crazy about the mashed potatoes- to me they seemed like they WERE instant and kind of watery...not the fluffy potatoes I am used to. The cherry cobbler was pretty good, but not the best I've had. We all seemed to agree that everything was just OK...good but not outstanding. The service was good but not annoying, and we were offered refills on our veggies. I would go there again if I needed to meet someone near the airport. I do not live in the area and I would not make a special trip to eat here.

This is the best bbq I've ever had. This was the first place I went to after arriving into town and was a two minute walk from my hotel and admittedly, I'm from Minnesota, so my expectations may not be super high, but the food was so good and the staff was so friendly, there's no question I'll hit this place again before I leave. I had the half pork half beef platter and a coke. I noticed a lot of iced tea being served.. I'll try that next. The biscuits were the most.. Real(?) tasting biscuits I've ever had. Brunswick stew rules. Highlight of my trip so far.

Clean is not a word I'd use to described this place. The food - average. We got the hot cakes with sausage. Not the great food we expected when seeing the Yelp rating. Service - poor to average. Bathrooms - average.

I came to this restaurant on a recommendation from the hotel staff. They recommended the brisket or the chicken. I went with the brisket. It was so juicy and flavorful I did not need the barbecue sauce at the table. It came with several options of sides and the coleslaw and okra with the pink lemonade just made it a perfect southern cooked meal. I tried the jalapeño corn muffins which were a little too spicy for my taste but if you enjoy hot they are the way to go. If I am in town again I would love to try their homemade biscuits. And the waitress raved about their cobbler as well. There was so much food I couldn't finish it and was bummed the hotel didn't have a refrigerator for me to put leftovers in. Would recommend this to anyone traveling to the area. The best part is that it's only a mile or two from the airport!

Walked around the neighborhood of my airport hotel and this has the best and most consistent reviews. You seat yourself wherever you like. I love the old southern feel to the building and the inside decor. The staff was super friendly and kind. After many questions to my waitress I went with a single BBQ brisket plate, served with 3 sides and 2 biscuits. The food was exceptional, and I am very picky about my BBQ, the baked beans were my favorite side dish. Portions are large so keep that in mind. I only ate 1/2 of my meal and took the rest to go. Price, service and food were all 5 stars!

  • Mike B.

Pretty good BBQ food. I had the brisket, it was more like a stew than slices of brisket, but it still tasted good. What was great here though was the pineapple pudding that came with my meal. Cheap prices and good food, close to the airport as well.

It's hard to discern whether this place is a typical barbecue diner style or more in line with the ghetto-fabulous style of the surrounding area. As such the service is the standard "what do you want" level that I am coming to expect from the ATL/airport proximity. On to the food. Both our meat options, brisket and pork, were insanely over salted. To the point that it tasted like we were licking a salt pack. Some of my pieces were hyper dry while others were sorta moist. A few highlights were the cheap prices and quick in-n-out service. Not much here to make me want to go back.

Minutes away from the Hartsfield-Jackson International airport, this baby is worth a long layover, which is how we found it. Rolled into town about 5am with 5 hours until departing again, breakfast was necessary. Hailed a friendly cab out front and pulled into the tiny parking lot in seconds. Right next door was the Waffle House, but we pressed on. Lucky for us! Our sweet as southern pie waitress immediately spotted some west coast yanks and gave us ample time with the menu. She split up our table into separate checks without any hassle and answered every stupid question we had with a smile and drawl of honey. I ventured out of my comfort zone and begged for biscuits and gravy and grits- the others were more standoffish in their choices. But knowing what every good southern woman knows, our waitress brought over biscuits and gravy for everyone- gratis. Not a complaint or murmur was heard down the table, just sighs of delight. Our ordered food came before the gravy was lapped up and every single thing was awesome- no one had anything negative to say. The country ham was scrumptious, as promised, eggs cooked to perfection, and even my picky boyfriend was delighted to see his menial requests honored. With a table of three couples, we barely broke the $50 mark total after eating like kings. My travel companions and I fondly remembered Prague for the cheap and delicious eats. Be prepared as it is cash only and mmm mmm mmm worth a trip!

I should not be here again. Should NOT! But what had happened was: I was on my way to the airport and my car veered and made me take the College Park exit. I go to turn around and I look up and boom.., I'm here, just like that! *lies, all lies* You can get a home cooked/ mama put her whole foot in it meal with meat & three veggies for $10. The portions are monstrous flint stone size portions. This is comfort back-home kinda food. You can't eat this everyday, but when you do eat it... It's worth it. It'll feed your soul. Now, it's not fancy, but I don't consider this a hole either. It's decent. The waitresses are nice. The food is always great and piping hot. The speed of service is always Good They have ample seating, but the parking... It's a pain in the rooter & the tooter. So, if ever in the area, come on an empty stomach, smile as you enter, and get ready to chow down!

Good food, good prices, generous portions, friendly service, great smoky taste to BBQ meat. Plate #1 - BBQ Turkey, creamed corn, baked squash casserole, fried okra. Plate #2 - BBQ 1/2 Chicken, Lima beans, Mac & cheese.

Here for a late breakfast, but easily buckled under the temptation of some pulled pork BBQ & veggies. Served up fast with a choice of sides, the BBQ was right on target with plenty of smoky, tender meat topped with a little of their BBQ sauce (more on the table if needed). Of the sides, I tried the fried eggplant. Was it ever good! I could make a meal of just those. I make eggplant stuff all the time, but never had it breaded and fried like this (in a corn meal breading like fried green tomatoes). Pork was awesome, tender, gently smoked.

Cheap and friendly. I'm not a big fan of their bbq sauce but the smoked chicken definitely was smokey! I had the coleslaw, fried okra, mashed potatoes, collard greens, and the rutabagas. My fave would be the coleslaw. Mashed potatoes was overwhelmed with black pepper and tasted like they put lard in it instead of butter? Maybe they don't but that's what it tasted like for me. Rutabagas looked like cooked apple sauce and I couldn't get over that. Everytime I took a bite, I was expecting apple sauce! Lol. But all in all, a-okay considering they're quite cheap.

Honestly, I hated it. Didn't think the place was clean at all and I would be fine with that if the food was awesome but it wasn't at all. The best part was the cornbread that they give you but other than that I was highly disappointed. I got the brisket which was obviously scooped out of a large bucket because it was 1 part brisket 2 parts greasy water. It was the saltiest meat I've ever had. If you're trying to eat even remotely healthy, skip it. I won't go back

I'm giving city BBQ 4 stars based on their breakfast. If you're looking for someplace to eat close to the airport before you drop off your rental car this is it. I found this place on yelp(thank you fellow yelpers!) we went around 9am and the place was full of policemen and a few firemen. The place is kind of divey but clean. The service and food is awesome. Good coffee and very inexpensive food. We had biscuit breakfast sandwichs and hashbrowns. The biscuits were prob. the best biscuits ive ever had! My husband says their dinner specials are delicious. Not the greatest neighborhood but O.K. During the day.

I don't review on ambiance or decor, I review on food...actually this is only my second review but this place was THAT GOOD to pick up the phone, find the app and do so. Brisket....amaze balls, pot pie YUMMY, biscuits with brown gravy (yes, I grew up farrrrr south and I was fed right)-UNBELIEVABLE....the gravy I could've just drank, collard greens were phenomenal, first time EVER I didn't have to salt them or use pepper sauce, baked potato casserole....great, pinto beans are pinto beans, sorry....arrived about 45 minutes before closing so I missed out on the Mac and cheese and broccoli casserole, however I probably will be back tomorrow for lunch. No joke. I have to see if I caught this place on a really good day or if consistent. If consistent, I may pack up and move to College Park!

Great breakfast and ultra friendly staff. Apparently a favorite the local police which is always a good sign of a hearty breakfast restaurant. Prices were reasonable.

  • Ricki T.

The biscuits were delicious! Everything else was just okay. I think I was expecting so much more considering the location and amount of people piled in there. Typical Meat & 3 but it lacked in flavor. I had fried chicken, mashed potatoes, Mac & cheese, and peach cobbler. My husband had bbq pulled pork, squash casserole (he said was delicious), fried okra, and peach cobbler. Also don't count on a super friendly service, it would've killed them to say more than 3 words. Overall it was okay, but if you are used to good southern home cooking you may get disappointed. Maybe breakfast is better!

Ate here for Sunday dinner after looking at the reviews on Yelp. I'm from Atlanta so my standards for southern cooking may be a little high. Ordered fried fish and ended up with a boxed piece of fried cod. The banana pudding tasted a little off. Collards greens in the words of my 5 year old were awful. Also had squash casserole, rutabagas, fried okra, and Mac in cheese. Overall the restaurant was just OK. There were a few positives.... The muffins and sweet potato souffle were pretty good. Enjoyed the Mexican muffins. Service was really good. The waitress really was personable and responsive. We were waiting on a friend's flight and were in and out in an hour.

It just feels like home when I went there this morning! As someone from out of town, breakfast tastes just like a homecook meal! Gotta love having bone-in Ham as part of my breakfast meat! Price is super reasonable too. The biscuit taste so home made, and I like the gravy too.

Gross !!!!! Very few times in my travels do I just scrap a whole meal and start over . I can only think of once as a mater of fact . This is one of those meals ! The ribs are so tough I spit out what I was able to remove after almost pulling my front teeth out to get it off the bone . Shoot I think my teeth were trying to escape what they knew was going to be a horrible food experience . Cornbread .... Or sand smashed together ? I will let you figure that out . Scalloped taters. ? If you say so .... I still am trying to figure out how you mess that up Cole slaw is kinda good but now my mouth is refusing to allow anything from there in so it will go with the rest in the trash. Room service it is ! So much for trying something local ( insert very sad face here )

If you come here with BBQ on the brain, you will probably leave disappointed and unsatisfied. Now that I know better and I think "Southern Kitchen" I have a better appreciation for this establishment. The Fried Chicken Platter which comes with 2 large breasts, 3 sides of your choice and corn bread and biscuits is probably way more than anyone needs to eat. One of the best things (IMHO) is the coconut cake!! Get a slice to go as you check out...for tomorrow...when you've burned dinner off.

  • Jeremia F.

Can't go wrong here! The prices are proper and the servings sizes are too. You can get a tasty meat with two serving sizes and save some room for some desert, I tried some Peach cobler that was included in the price of the meal. I was more than satisified as I wobbled out the door

Get off the plane, get the rental car, everyone is tired and hungry where to go? HERE. Friendly staff. Prices are low for the quality and quantity of food provided. I had the pulled pork;it was moist not overly fatty great flavor and the BBQ sauce was excellent. I'm from New Mexico and there are some decent BBQ, but it a different style, so I was glad our first restaurant in Georgia was such a good one.

Excellent service and good down-home food. The vegetables are fresh and the barbecue is moist and delicious. If I had a friend with a layover at the airport I would bring them here.

UPDATE, UPDATE, UPDATE, they accept credit cards!! Seriously, this is some of the BEST homemade comfort food I have ever had from a restaurant! Their meat and three veg, or meat and two veg with desert and choice of corn muffins, biscuits, or mexican corn muffins is a deal and then some! I ate myself silly for less than a Hamilton ($10) including a drink! Food was well prepared, ultra tasty, and sweetly served by a smiling waitress. A true shining star on Virginia Ave. and well worth five stars for quality, service, and value!

I really don't care for the BBQ here. If you want good BBQ, go to Pitboss right down Virginia Ave. With that said, this is great southern cooking. Fried chicken was pretty damn good. Didn't care for the country fried steak (brown gravy). But the sides is where this place shines. Squash casserole - excellent. Mac and Cheese - excellent. Biscuits- maybe the best I have ever had. The sides rotate out BTW. I did go once and they didn't have Mac and Cheese.

Visited Atlanta for a conference. It was a Sunday night and I was hungry. I arrived at 7:30pm and they close at 8pm. The food is great and the servers are very friendly (even for last minute diners!) Portions are large and price is cheap. I had the brisket and it was fantastic. Squash casserole was amazing. Fried Okra was good. Cornbread and biscuits are tasty. I will definitely be back the next time I am in Atlanta.

The worst southern style food I've ever had in the Atlanta area. Fried chicken so dry I couldn't even swallow it without a drink of tea. Over cooked fried okra and I mean OVERCOOKED - not in a good way. Brunswick stew? Brunswick doo!!!

Family style restaurant that serves down home meat and 3 meals. Breakfast is available all day. They used to have unlimited sides but no longer.

Don't be mistaken, they offer BBQ here, but this isn't quite a go-to BBQ place. I'd classify it more as a country restaurant with the array of grilled ham, fried fish and BBQ offerings. My briske was dry, and had a lot of soupy liquid at the bottom. That's definitely no way to treat brisket. This time around I had mashed potatoes, collared greens and the banana pudding. The sides are pretty good, though the greens were a bit on the salty side. However I did appreciate their real mashed potatoes, too many places have sold out to powdered junk. For all of $10, I got the entree, 2 sides and dessert. All in all, a pretty good deal. But looking at the breakfast offerings and prices, I'd say that this is definitely a great place to come to for breakfast.

Venue: Barbecue Kitchen Decor: BBQ like, Old School, Basic Service: Friendly Environment: Laid back, Pretty decent size restaurant Food: BBQ (predominantly), Seafood (some) Prices: Fair , Reasonable Huge Pros: Versatile BBQ options, Mix & match BBQ plates, Daily Specials Debbie Downers: N/A (to be continued) Conclusion: Not to far from airport lies a BBQ establishment tucked a few miles from the run way. But yet do not run away on the BBQ they have to offer. Briskets, Ribs & Chicken - Oh My?! Flavor - kind of bland, sort of average but does the trick. Fish filet sammiches on deck with home made tartah (Bahstan accent). Here, you have options, but are the options worth taking? Food is peace but it is one of the situations where I may need to come back, try additional things to curve this review. So you see my results where it stand below. Overall: C

Great southern food with fast friendly service! The brisket was very moist and tender. The soufflé was perfectly spiced with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon. The potato salad was a traditional chunky yellow salad and the cabbage was tender. Definitely a great place to stop and close to the airport if you are on your way out of ATL

The real deal. If you are staying IVO the ATL airport and want to slop down some really good down-home-country food, dis be it... I had the 1/2 bbq chicken, mac and cheese, collared greens with corn muffins, sweet tea, and ice water and it was delicious. They know how to do it here. For rizzle..
